The scholarship is offered to Asian citizens who are under 40 years of age and are a national of one of the countries where the Asia Foundation has programs: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Timor-Leste.

DAAD
The DAAD is an organisation that helps students from all over the world to study in Germany. It offers a range of scholarships that are awarded on the basis of subjects, duration, and country of origin.
Scholarships are available for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral studies. They also include travel stipends and health allowances.
DAAD scholarships are awarded by independent and voluntary selection committees. These committees evaluate applications based on subject-related criteria and decide which candidates will be offered funding.

Musical Excellence & Innovation: Applicants must have a high level of performance, composition, improvisational, production and/or technological skill. They also need to be willing to reach across cultural and musical divides in creating original music or re-interpreting traditional music, while respecting the essence of each tradition.
Collaboration: Applicants need to have used music to serve their communities or greater societies. This could include guiding young people in music education, addressing social-political issues through musical content, or reviving dying musical traditions.
Applicants should be aged 19-35 and should have basic English proficiency, since they will be communicating through the internet. They should be able to attend virtual masterclasses and open studios, lead online workshops, and produce a public streaming final concert.
