In order to be eligible, a candidate should have a bachelor or master’s degree that has been completed no longer than six years ago in their home country. US/Canadian citizens and permanent residents are also eligible to apply.
DAAD offers various funding opportunities for undergraduates including a Summer Course Grant and internships. These programs are especially helpful for those who want to improve their German language skills or gain work experience in their field.
FES
The FES scholarship is for students who are actively committed to the core social democratic values of freedom, justice and social cohesion. As well as their academic achievement, the foundation also takes into account their social and political involvement and their personal views.
The scholarship is awarded to 40 students each year, who are enrolled at German universities and are from Africa, Asia, Latin America or Eastern Europe. They receive a monthly stipend of EUR 850, as well as costs for health insurance.
They also participate in a comprehensive seminar programme, which enhances their social competences. This is supported by on-site liaison lecturers and a dedicated student support system.
The DAAD is one of the largest international study agencies in Germany, with offices in many countries. It offers a range of scholarships for international students and is a good place to start looking for funding for your Masters.
